Benefits of Having an Alum Mentor

As a student or soon-to-be graduate, you are part of an incredible community that spans generations of Hanoverians who have shared transformative experiences on this campus. Whether you have memories of the Shoebox (or the Cabin back in the day), Happy Valley, The Point, the UG and WAC, BINGO, late-night breakfasts, or the excitement of Vegas Night, these connections bind us all together, regardless of when you attended.

As a current student, you have a fantastic opportunity to connect with alumni eager to meet you, offer insights, and share advice about life after Hanover. Additionally, alumni are keen to hear about your experiences and what's happening on campus. Who better to share that with than you?

Imagine having someone who has been in your shoes and can guide academic success, career development, personal growth, and navigating life after graduation. The COACH Mentoring Program connects you with Hanover alumni worldwide, allowing you to build meaningful, lasting relationships. Whether through phone calls, in-person meetings, or emails, you can maintain contact with your mentor in a way that works best for both of you.

Take advantage of this incredible opportunity and make a connection today!

How Do I Get Started?

  1. Current students will complete the Enrollment Form.
    • All students who enroll are automatically active members of the COACH Mentoring Program.
    • Be as specific as possible when completing the enrollment form.
    • To leave the program, please contact coachmentoring@hanover.edu.
  2. Await correspondence from the COACH Mentoring Staff.
    • Throughout the academic year (August to May), the COACH Mentoring Staff will carefully pair every student with a suitable alum mentor, considering the student's responses on their enrollment form.
    • Once a student applies, they will be matched with an alum within 5-7 business days during the academic year.
    • Once a match is made, an email containing your alum mentor's name and information will be sent.
  3. Once matched, visit the online Welcome Packet (above) to get started. Remember, you already have something in common with your mentor—they were in your shoes at one time!
